Fish Swallowing The Sea

We are all inside this decrepit ship, struggling with the waves in the midst of a turbulent sea. We have no destination to go, no calm shore to throw ourselves onto, and whatever happens, it always happens to us and will happen. Amidst the swaying of this ship, we will think knowing that we are passengers of this perilous journey. We must stand firm, stay strong, and never succumb to despair. Yes, our hearts will ache, our souls will burn, and our hearts will constrict at the sight of the scenes of humanity we witness. Words of rebellion will be on the tip of our tongues, and yet, we will remain standing. Countless innocent people will be slaughtered by the tyrants, the limits of compassion will be crossed multiple times, and the arms of cruelty will reach places beyond the comprehension of reason, but we will still be obliged to be ‘human.’
